Apex Team Connects at Summer Staff Event

 

Last week, ahead of the Summer Bank Holiday, Apex staff logged off work and came together for a day of updates, team-building, and celebration.

 

Colleagues from across branches met at the new Wednesbury facility, where refreshments were served on arrival, and staff enjoyed a hog roast-style lunch together in the sunshine.

 

The day proved informative, as MD Steve Forbes and Finance Director Edward Wilson provided business updates and answered staff questions.

Team members from Rugby were also given the opportunity to explore the new site as facility tours were conducted.

 

The day wasn't all business though - friendly competition was sparked as staff took part in a structural building challenge using only spaghetti, tape and marshmallows! The winning team were awarded vouchers for their creativity and teamwork.

To wrap up, everyone left with brand-new Apex merchandise, including reusable water bottles, tote bags, pens - and plenty of sweets.

Reflecting on the success of the day, e-Commerce and Marketing Manager Jason Lloyd commented:

"It's been a great experience for the Marketing team, and I'm sure we have more events to come. Apex is on a path to try out a range of new things, and the best aspect of this event was that all the staff were willing to get involved and try something new.

In the team challenge, we put together teams who had not worked with each other before and seeing that collaboration combined with a lot of fun and some positive pressure is what we want to emulate as a business going forward."

 

The event was the first of its kind in Apex history, but certainly not the last. Staff left feeling inspired, motivated and more connected than ever as Apex continues to strengthen its culture of teamwork.
